Ursuline presentation “The Art of Simplicity”

The monthly Evening with an Ursuline presentation will take place on Tuesday, Feb. 3. “The Art of Simplicity” will be led by Ursuline Sister Amelia Stenger, the director of development for the Ursuline Sisters of Mount Saint Joseph. Jesus lived a life of simplicity. How much is enough? Can we find joy in simplicity? The time for the dinner and presentation is 5:30 p.m. – 7 p.m. at Mount Saint Joseph Conference and Retreat Center. The cost is $15. Eucharistic Adoration

February 8, 2015 - 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm

Where: Motherhouse Chapel, Maple Mount

The Ursuline Sisters of Mount Saint Joseph invite the public to join them for Eucharistic Adoration on the second Sunday of every month in 2015. Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament will occur from 4 to 5 p.m., at the Motherhouse Chapel in Maple Mount. Adoration will conclude with evening prayer. Upcoming dates are Jan. 11 and Feb. 8. During this special time of the Year of Consecrated Life, we ask you to join us in praying for a deeper awareness and openness in response to God’s call to consecrated life. Yarn Spinning Weekend

Where: Mount Saint Joseph Conference and Retreat Center

All those who enjoy yarn spinning, weaving, knitting or crocheting are welcome to attend the Feb. 20-22 "Arts at the Mount" spinning weekend at Mount Saint Joseph Conference and Retreat Center. All skill levels are welcome. The weekend will include workshops and relaxing time to work on your projects. St. Ignatian Retreat

March 6, 2015 - March 8, 2015

Where: Mount St. Joseph Conference & Retreat Center

A March 6-8 silent retreat based on the Spiritual Exercises of Saint Ignatius Loyola will allow participants to dwell in the unchanging reality that we are loved just as we are, to listen to the call of God and God’s hopes for us and to respond more deeply from our hearts. Retreatants will develop deeper pathways to prayer, keener discernment, the ability to see God actively involved in the world and intimately involved with us in every moment and place. Saint Ignatius Loyola founded the Society of Jesus (Jesuits) in the 16th century, in whose footsteps Pope Francis follows. Retreat director is Monica Armstrong, founder of Mission of the Spirit in Knoxville, Tenn. The $180 fee includes meals and accommodations. Take 10 percent off if paid in full by Feb. 6. Women's Retreat: "Holiness in Family Life"

March 20, 2015 - March 22, 2015

Where: Mount St. Joseph Conference & Retreat Center

“Holiness in Family Life: Lessons from Saint Monica and Elisabeth Leseur” will be the focus of a women's retreat March 20–22 at Mount Saint Joseph Conference and Retreat Center. The fourth-century Saint Monica and the 19th-century Elisabeth Leseur experienced family struggles firsthand. Saint Monica, famous for her faithful praying for the conversion of her son, Saint Augustine, lived with a violent husband. Elisabeth was married to an atheist, but her spiritual journals, left for him to read after her death, so moved him that he became a priest. These women were united in constant prayer for their loved ones to come to Christ. Retreat leader is Sister Cheryl Clemons, OSU. The $180 fee includes meals and accommodations.
