Diocese of Owensboro Catholic Committee on Scouting
We are a committee of adults involved in Boy Scouts of America and Girl Scouts who promote an integration of Scouting with the Catholic Faith. We do this through promotion of Religious Emblems and retreats and communications. Each year we celebrate a mass with Bishop McRaith and confer the Religious Emblems and adult awards for those adults who have shown outstanding leadership in Scouting and the Catholic Church. We meet monthly and have a planning retreat once per year.

Catholic Committee on Scouting Plans Awards Mass
The Diocese of Owensboro Catholic Committee on Scouting will celebrate its annual Religious Emblems Awards Mass at St. Pius X Church, 3418 Highway 60 East, Owensboro KY on Sunday, March 14 at 2:30 p.m. All Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts, Webelos, and Boy Scouts who have completed their award requirements, or will by January 30, 2010, must notify youth awards chairman, Jeff Hedges, at 821 Canterbury Road, Owensboro, KY 42303.
Boards of Review for Boy Scout awards, Ad Altare Dei and Pope Pius XII, are scheduled for January 30, 2010. Boards will be conducted at the Catholic Pastoral Center, 600 Locust Street, Owensboro, KY and Saint Joseph Church, 434 Church Avenue, Bowling Green, KY from 10:00 a.m. until noon. A third board will be conducted at Saint Joseph Church, 702 West Broadway, Mayfield KY from noon until 2:00 p.m.
Nominations for the Saint George and Bronze Pelican Awards for adults are due immediately and should be sent to adult awards chairman, Dave Ashley, at 350 A.G Daniel Road, Hartford KY 42347.
